Tuttle lawn care

Tuttle, Oklahoma is located on the northeast portion of Grady County, Oklahoma. Located just outside of the city and on the east of the Chisholm Trail, this area is mostly an agricultural community with a focus on cotton, corn, cattle, wheat, and grass hay. Tuttle has a population of approximately 6,019, according to the 2010 census. As most houses in Tuttle are 2,000 square feet, many people have been rapidly flocking to this town. In the last decade, Tuttle has experienced a 40% increase in population partly because Tuttle is a part of the area of northern counties, which make up the "Tri-City Area" along with Blanchard and Newcastle. Tuttle is the home of the annual Ice Cream Festival as well as many other attractions.

History

This town was developed as an agricultural and ranching community in 1901, consisting of 29.2 square miles. The Tuttle post office was constructed and established in 1902 and incorporated four years later. The Town of Tuttle was named after James J. Tuttle, a local rancher. He was a Choctaw by marriage. While the name was first discovered in northern England, the name comes from Scandinavian settlers and Normans. Many say that the name originated from the Old English expression "tot-hyl" which means "by the lookout hill." This term was used frequently to describe a hill with a positive outlook against approaching opponents in a battle or war. Tuttle later became a popular surname in Toot Hill, Essex, Middlesex, Lincolnshire, etc. during the 12th and 13th centuries.

Demographics

As of 2010, more than 1,200 families were living in Tuttle with about 200 people per square mile. In Tuttle, the average age of residents is 37, and the median income for a household is approximately $56,000. However, the median income for a family is less than $50,000. About 5% of families and 10% of the overall population were reported as below the poverty line, including minors and senior citizens, making up 16% collectively.

Fun Things to Do

As Tuttle is an agricultural town and home of the Ice Cream Festival, tourists enjoy visiting our Braum's Dairy Farms. On the tour, visitors see where they produce grains for their baked goods as well as where approximately 11,000 cows are milked daily. This is an exciting tour for those who are interested in learning about the origin of the products, such as Braum's ice cream, which are in Braum's multiple stores in five states.

Over 300 stores across the country also sell their merchandise and products. Other fun things to do in Tuttle include visiting the Tiger Safari Zoological Park, the Coal Creek Vineyard and Winery and Skate Fever. Tuttle's zoo has over 170 animals for visitors to see. There are also some exotic animals that visitors can see up close. The park even includes a Safari Hut for those who would like to stay overnight, which gives visitors the feeling of staying in an African safari village.

Top accommodations are also provided, including a queen-size bed, fireplace, air-conditioning, and heat as well as a big screen TV, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and more. With the African décor and bush huts surrounding the lagoon, visitors find this getaway experience to be refreshingly unique.

This is an excellent location for special family outings and birthday parties for all ages. Another superb place for a birthday party is Tuttle's Skate Fever, a local skating rink. For adults who are looking for a more refined experience, we have the Coal Creek Vineyard and Winery. This experience allows tourists to experience Oklahoma wine. Coal Creek provides a full experience, including visiting the vineyard, producing a bottle of wine, browsing the boutique gift shop and mingling at the tasting room.

If you are new to Tuttle, there is so much to experience in this small town. After you visit our dairy farms, enjoy our local attractions and get to know our locals, you may take an interest in learning more about our local businesses. We have many companies in a variety of industries to serve our residents. For example, for residents who are searching for premier lawn care, Lawn Love will take care of all your backyard and garden needs.
